Chapter Eleven

Sakia

​I sat on Ahmeek’s sofa with my feet curled under me as I tried to find something to watch while he was in the shower. I wanted to watch something funny to lighten the mood between us.

​I decided to put Martin on. As soon as I did, my phone went off with a text message. I scooped it up to read it.

​RG: How did it go?

​I looked around to make sure Ahmeek wasn’t on his way back downstairs yet before I responded, even though he had only gone upstairs a few minutes ago.

​Me: He bought it just like I told you he would. When do I get my money?

​I heard the Cash App notification one minute later. I smiled at the sound, then frowned when I saw the amount was only five thousand dollars.

​Me: You promised ten thousand dollars! Where is the rest?

​RG: You’ll get the full ten thousand when you bring him to me.

​“That mouthafucka,” I hissed as I sat my phone down. I hated to be played by anybody. The irony in that was that I was playing the fuck out of Ahmeek.

​I wasn’t pregnant at all. I was far from it. As a teenager I’d had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have one of my fallopian tubes removed. Then I’d had another at the age of twenty one, and the other one had been removed as well. So, there was no chance in hell of me every getting pregnant.

​I didn’t mind that at all. Having kids did not fit into my life plan. I was admittedly selfish. I wanted to have all my money and all my time to myself. I didn’t want to worry about sharing any of it with some damn kids. Plus, I’d seen what pregnancy had done to all the females in my family. They’d never bounced back to their pre baby weight. That was not it for me. I wanted to keep my body, my money and my sanity.

​The only thing I wanted from Ahmeek was for him to be my man. I told him that I was on birth control because he never fucked me without a condom, and I really wanted to feel that dick raw. I knew that his insistence on using them had everything to do with the fact that his dad was the richest white man in town and refused to claim him. He thought I didn’t know about it, but one day he had to leave out early for a work emergency. Normally when he would leave, I had to leave too but it was five in the morning. He was too considerate to wake me up and make me leave at that ungodly hour.

​Him leaving had woke me up though, and it took a while for me to go back to sleep. So, I’d done what anyone would do and started snooping through his shit. There wasn’t any dirt to find on him, mainly because he was so honest with me. I knew I wasn’t the only woman that he dealt with, but I could tell that I was his favorite.
